Prepare forTile Installation
Get ready for tile installation: what to photograph, which material details to share, and how to arrange access to the work area.
Preparation checklist
Before you
schedule the work.
Send photos, approximate dimensions, and a short description of the work. Prime will confirm the material details, access, and other arrangements needed before installation is scheduled.
01 / Share the details
For the estimate
- Send photos of the whole area, existing floor, thresholds, and any cracks or damaged sections.
- Share tile size, material, intended pattern, grout preference, and any selected edge profiles.
- Identify wet areas, floor heating, fixtures, and substrate information if available.
02 / Plan ahead
Materials and readiness
- Confirm the tile quantity, layout allowance, matching trim, and batch consistency before work is scheduled.
- Discuss the setting and grout system with Prime; do not assume leftover materials suit the new installation.
- Arrange a protected storage area and confirm who will supply each installation component.
03 / Before work begins
Access and the space
- Agree on removal, furniture, appliance or fixture handling, and access to the installation area.
- Discuss a cutting location and protection for nearby finishes and routes through the property.
- Allow for the cure and access restrictions of the agreed setting system before scheduling other work.
Set the responsibilities
Confirm what the estimate covers
Review labor, preparation, finishing, and any separate responsibilities before making delivery or scheduling arrangements.
Choose where you purchase
Bring materials from your preferred retailer. Floors Now is Prime's preferred materials supplier, and purchasing there is optional. We will review material requirements alongside the proposed installation.
