Before you
schedule the work.
Send photos, approximate dimensions, and a short description of the work. Prime will confirm the material details, access, and other arrangements needed before installation is scheduled.

- Photograph the whole staircase, bottom and top connections, landings, and any open sides.
- Share the step count and describe turns or unusual shapes; detailed measurements can be confirmed during assessment.
- Provide runner dimensions, pattern, binding details, or the proposed stair-system information.
02 / Plan ahead
Materials and readiness
- Confirm the measured layout and fabrication requirements before ordering a runner.
- Review matching nosings, treads, risers, and transitions for hard-surface requests.
- Keep material information and installation instructions available for the project review.
03 / Before work begins
Access and the space
- Remove loose stair items and artwork or fragile objects close to the working route.
- Discuss how household members will access other floors while the staircase is being worked on.
- Keep children and pets away and coordinate removal or finishing by other trades in advance.
