Prepare forShowers & Tub Surrounds
Get ready for showers & tub surrounds: what to photograph, which material details to share, and how to arrange access to the work area.
Preparation checklist
Before you
schedule the work.
Send photos, approximate dimensions, and a short description of the work. Prime will confirm the material details, access, and other arrangements needed before installation is scheduled.
01 / Share the details
For the estimate
- Send photos of the full bathroom, shower or tub area, fixture locations, and any visible damage.
- Share approximate dimensions, tile size, pattern ideas, and proposed niches or edge details.
- Describe known leaks and identify which contractor is responsible for plumbing, glass, and other bathroom work.
02 / Plan ahead
Materials and readiness
- Confirm the tile, trim, grout, and compatible assembly before ordering installation materials.
- Coordinate fixture and drain selections with the responsible trades before surfaces are closed.
- Agree on delivery, storage, and who supplies each part of the installation system.
03 / Before work begins
Access and the space
- Arrange an alternate bathing area and discuss the expected period without shower or tub access.
- Clear the bathroom and establish an agreed route for materials, cutting, and debris.
- Schedule other trades around the required checks and cure stages, then confirm when the area may be used.
Set the responsibilities
Confirm what the estimate covers
Review labor, preparation, finishing, and any separate responsibilities before making delivery or scheduling arrangements.
